Blackwolf and Duxford

Date: June 19th 2024.

Today was one of a series of social events organised by the Blackwolf wargames Club, This was a visit to IWM Duxford, near Cambridge. We met up at 10am as the Museum opened, and immediately had a coffee break to catch up and make a plan for the day.

For those who know Duxford the plan was this. Hike down the length of the airfield to the Land Warfare Museum and then work back from there, stopping for lunch on the way.

We were lucky with the weather and also the number of aircraft that took to the air. We had a Spitfire, Hurricane, Wildcat, Fury and a Mustang all do a few passes of the airfield. Wrong camera with me, so no pictures of these.

The pictures below are in the order of the day, so they start in the dark of the Land Warfare Museum , go through the USAF museum, then Lunch and the Operations Room, before visiting the Battle of Britain Hanger. I left at this point, the others went on to the Airspace Hanger.
