Staffordshire Kingfishers
17th February, Staffordshire
We (Robby Holgate and I), arrived at the venue for the Kingfisher Hide at approximately 8 am. It was about a 200 meter walk from the car park across the field to the lake edge. As we had seen on a variety of YouTube videos, the Hide was exceptionally well appointed. We very quickly had the electric fire on had checked out the Wi-Fi password and we’re testing the tea and coffee making facilities. It took a short while and we had the heated armchairs working as well. We were looking out over an infinity pool but the windows we were photographing from were approximately 3 feet above above water level. We managed to get some good perched shots but we were looking down on the water for diving shots. There was a lower Level opening to shoot from but that meant the cameras were on the floor and using remote shutter releases this proved very problematic and we didn’t really capture any decent shots from this. However, I came away with a number of good additions to my gallery of , Kingfisher images.
